As owner of Honest Tech Services (operations ceased Aug 2025), I built a full-stack managed services program that delivered 24×7 monitoring, multilayer security, and resilient backups for small-business clients.

Approach and execution

What I did

Role

Owner & Principal Systems Engineer responsible for service design, delivery, and vendor relationships.

Key Actions

Designed and launched a managed services stack covering 24×7 monitoring, automated patching, endpoint detection and response, email filtering, DNS filtering, and MFA enforcement across more than 70 client endpoints.

Implemented business continuity plans with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backups, immutable storage, off-site replication, and documented recovery runbooks.

Negotiated ISP and software contracts while securing partner relationships with Microsoft, Sophos, Lenovo, Logitech, and Samsung to streamline licensing and procurement.

Authored incident response, risk management, and HIPAA/GDPR-aligned compliance SOPs to standardize service delivery.

Impact & Outcomes

Cut unplanned downtime by approximately 35% through proactive patching and monitoring, and reduced ISP costs for clients by up to $6K annually through contract negotiations.

Achieved successful quarterly restore tests and increased recurring service revenue that sustained the company through Aug 2025 closure.
